Success Stories

Here are some of the stories from our daily work

1. Little Lions Dance Troupe

We have established a dance troupe, for 47 children. Our teacher is from Uganda’s most famous dance group, Ndere. Our Little Lions are learning and excelling very quickly. The video on this page is made after three weeks of practice, when they had also learned a lot of other complex choreographies of traditional dances from various tribes around the country.

2. Project with Miss Uganda’s Tyra

Our dear Tyra Margach Isabella has a burning heart for community work. After becoming the 1st runner up in Miss Uganda, she wanted to use her communication skills for showing and improving the livelihoods of local societies. When she found Greater Africa, she joined our team as our PR Manager, and dedicated herself to promoting our work. She has started a pilot for a weekly TV-show about what we do in the local community.

The Pilot was made by Game Concepts, with Director Edy Kasawuli, who has won an award in the states where Steven Spielberg was the host speaker. Skeral Bruno Agaba is a skilled member of the team.

Another pilot is at the time being planned by NTV, the largest and the state TV channel of Uganda.

This project has a potential for a large impact for our community, creating awareness and attracting well doers who wants to contribute. We also believe it can serve as an inspiration for others amongst the population of Uganda.

We will have a positive angle, showing that challenging situations are improved, at that things are developing and getting better.

Thank you so much Tyra, for your warm heart, dedication and inspiration.

Lillian Kabitira Joined our knitting and crocheting group. She had no experience of these crafts from before. She was learning very fast, and after only three weeks, she surprised us with this dress design, combining several different techniques.

Kabitira is an example of all the wonderful talent that lies within our local community. Undiscovered, or just without the means to practice it. We are so happy that her skills have shown, that she can create something that is new and unique, with her own personal identity and touch.

We believe in her, and looking forwards to see this wonderful lady prosper and succeed.
